Joining the Theatre Company
The company aims to put on a varied programme of six productions a year, including a traditional pantomime. Rehearsals are usually on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The high standard of productions and regular social events make for a lively, interesting, and friendly organisation.
We are a registered charity and the Company relies on the time and effort of its members. New members are always welcome and we are a very sociable group.
Tuesday evening is considered 'club night' and is always open to new members. Informal play readings and workshops regularly take place, and this is a good opportunity to meet some of the members and have a look around the theatre. Details of these can be found on the website, by contacting the Chairman, or by asking a member of the company.
there are many interesting jobs to be done: it is not just the actors who bring the show to you. there is always a need for set designers and decorators, scenery builders, lighting people, prompts, front of house staff, costume makers and many others for the thousand and one jobs that go towards making a succesful group.
We also have three youth groups, Young Stagers, Centre Stagers, and Up Stagers.
The annual subscription fee for members is currently £15.00 (18 – 60 years) and £7.50 (if under 18, in full time education, or over 60).
We are always on the look out for new members, so if you have any interest in the mysteries of the theatre, please come and join us!
